Why We Are a Great Nation

Today I read an article on The New York Sun by Thomas Bray about the sad state of the European military. This is a fantastic piece by Mr. Bray because it brings to light what is wrong with 'Old Europe' and why our friends at the other side of the pound cannot help us to fight terrorism. Mr Bray writes:

"the hard fact is that the European military establishment, never very large to begin with, is a 90-pound weakling. America, despite years of cutbacks beginning in the wake of the Cold War, plunked down nearly $400 billion last year to support its military. That's about 3.7% of gross domestic product, only about half the amount spent at the height of the Cold War. The European Union, by contrast, spends less than 2% percent of its GDP on the military."

Contrast this with what Kerry is saying. He wants a broader coalition-France and Germany?- when in reality the facts of the matter paints a different reality. Europe prefers to spend more on its welfare state than its military, but when the crap hits the fan, who Europe turns to for help? Us of course. No wonder why Europe and most of the world hate us.

How can you claim that Europes forces are a 90lb weakling? You aren't even beating Iraq and you forced them to disarm of their most [sarcasm]potent[/sarcasm] weapons before you invaded.
If you actually believe what you have written then you have been brainwashed. We don'y hate americans we hate their government. You have killed millions of people in the last 50 years and you think thatthis proves how good and virile you are.
The sooner your republic fails the better and believe us it is coming soon.
